PRATIC can finance your programming training

With the lack of IT staffing, 42 Québec offers an exciting career prospect. Recognized by the industry, flexible and complementary to the traditional educational offer, the 42 training is free. But, even if it is free, you must support your basic needs… How to do it financially?

Emploi Québec set up this funding program – the Information and Communication Technology Requalification and Training Program (PRATIC) – in July 2021.

It aims to encourage people to learn a new profession in the IT field while receiving financial assistance.

A generous offer

Several students have taken advantage of the program since the campus opened in early 2021:

“Being able to focus on studying full time, without worrying about basic needs, makes a big difference. The amount granted is great,” says Ismaël.

“Without the PRATIC, my career reorientation would have been much more difficult. Before, I had CERB benefits. I went to the PRATIC program to come and study code at 42 Quebec. The change went well,” continues Alex.

The eligibility conditions

The PRATIC allowances come into effect from the Piscine, which is the last step of the admission process at 42 Québec.

Eligible students will receive this allowance for a maximum of 18 months or until the end of the first internship. Given the flexibility of 42 Québec training, this stage may be reached in more or less 18 months.

One piece of advice from our students: no matter your current situation, if you are in the dark about the eligibility requirements, make an appointment with an agent to discuss it.

“Don’t hesitate to call an agent. Each situation is unique,” confirms Alex.
