The health and safety of all remain our highest priority. That is why the entire team at Québec numérique and 42 Québec is teleworking from the comfort of their homes to continue moving the project forward.

The government guidelines are clear to curb the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and it is our duty to follow them to the letter. This situation is unfortunately beyond our control, but we understand that it may have implications for candidates or people interested in 42 Québec.

However, we want to reassure you that the project is well underway and we are moving forward!

You will find below the answers to the most frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your question, please contact us at

If changes need to be made, we will let you know promptly. Keep an eye on this FAQ or on our social media to be notified.

What is happening with January and February Piscines?

As a responsible organization, we must ensure our candidates’ safety and our community’s well-being. Despite the measures planned for the 42 Québec campus, the increase of COVID-19 contamination in the community and government recommendations have led us to the difficult decision to postpone the Piscine to be held in January to March. The February Piscine is maintained for the moment.

Candidates registered at the Piscine have already received the necessary information and the procedure to continue the adventure.

Can I still sign up for 42 Québec?

Yes, you can. Part of the application process is online. In fact, voluntary or involuntary confinement is a good time to take the online tests, which take a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes. We encourage you to do the logic games and then attend our introductory online meetings if you pass them.

Still holding introductory meetings?

Yes, we still hold introductory online meetings that allow you to complete the second step of the process and ask all your questions related to 42 Québec.

If you prefer face-to-face meetings, don’t worry. As soon as the situation returns to normal, meeting dates will be available on the admissions platform and you will be notified by email.

Can the Piscine be done online?

Unfortunately, no. One of the goals of the Piscine is to create a group synergy so that the notion of peer learning can take root. It cannot be done entirely online. Bringing people together is its raison d’être.

When do you think you will be able to officially open the school?

The first Piscines will be in February and March 2021, and the first cohort will start in May 2021.

What will be done to ensure security at 42 Québec?

All candidates will have to fulfill a declaration before arriving on campus, and there will be a temperature check at the entrance. The February and March Piscines will operate to a quarter of our facilities’ capacity, thus facilitating physical distancing. Also, candidates will have to keep their masks at all times and disinfect their workstation before and after use. The common areas will be closed and the hours of access to the facilities reduced to allow the premises to be disinfected every day.

What should I do in the meantime?

Stay alert and watch for any update on our website, social media or in your email. If this is not done, use this time to complete the logic tests. You can also go jogging, learn to bake a loaf of bread, or take out your old 1,000 piece puzzle!
