First Piscines announcement!

For several months now, the 42 Québec team has been working very hard to make this project a reality. Opening a school with such an innovative pedagogy is challenging. Fortunately, Quebec City clearly understands the importance of hosting a school that would help overcome the critical shortage of skilled workers in the digital field. Training a new generation of developers is a natural fit.

We worked hard to promote 42 Québec and to highlight computer programming. People from all backgrounds converged on our admission platform, even though we had no actual opening date or facilities to show. This enthusiasm allowed us to announce an opening date. The first Piscine, the final step in the selection process to join 42 Quebec, was scheduled to take place in July. In fact, it was supposed to start this week! 

Unfortunately, in March, fate decided otherwise. A virus hit us head-on, and it wasn’t a computer one. Several months later, we are still experiencing the upheavals of COVID-19. With the restrictions imposed, governments busy and borders closed, we had to realise that summer Piscines would be impossible.

Fortunately, over the past few weeks, we have gradually been witnessing a return to normal. This has led us, among other things, to announce the funding granted by the Ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité Sociale, through the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail (CPMT), and by Québec City, as part of the Entrepreneurial Vision 2023 project.

These signs of improvement allow us to confidently confirm the holding of the first Piscines at 42 Québec. It’s in January and February 2021, in reduced mode (sanitary measures oblige!) that we’ll finally welcome the first candidates. Several other Piscines are planned during the year to offer everyone the opportunity to access 42. Two admissions are also planned, one in May and the other in September 2021.

Many of you have been involved in this project from the beginning. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding. For those of you who have not started or finished the registration process, there is still time to do it! Register now and complete the logic tests to ensure your place at the first 42 Québec Piscine.
